I'm looking for any restaurants along the coast from downtown San Diego up to about Carlsbad. Something that's nice, and you have to dress up a bit for would be ideal. Know of any? What are some expensive fine dining restaurants with a beach view in San Diego?
Try Ruth Chris' in Downtown San Diego...they are located along the water so there is a view. Not exactly a beach view, more like a bay view (no sand, just a dock %26amp; boats). You don't have to dress up there, unless you want to.
A unique place that I'd recommend is the Marine Room in La Jolla. During high tide, the waves are just inches from the huge floor to ceiling glass windows. It's an upscale restaurant with a lovely ambiance and great food. http://www.sandiego-romantics.com/romant鈥?/a>What are some expensive fine dining restaurants with a beach view in San Diego?
I agree with the first response as one choice. Ruths Chris on the bay is a pretty location. Seats by the windows are limited though. You might also try the Marine Room in La Jolla (http://www.marineroom.com/). It is very nice and has a beautiful view.
I love Jake's In Del Mar.. Perfect views of the Ocean,California Coastal Cuisine,Romantic Ambiance. Excellent place to go. Take a drive up Pacific Coast Highway and check it out! I am sure you will love it!

The Boathouse very nice great view ask for table with view when making reservation
There are two near the Yacht Club. I don't remember the names but you get a good view of the bay and downtown. One is Humphrey's Half Moon.
