is the food good?
expensive?
what are the cheapest areas to eat at?How are the restaurants in San Diego, California?
San Diego has some of the BEST places to eat! What type of food do you like?
Mexican- Casa de Bandini in Old Town
Italian- Venice in Ocean Beach
Japanese- O'Nami's
Seafood- Anthony's
Pizza %26amp; Beer- BJ's or PB Bar %26amp; Grill
Burgers- Bull Weevil or Cadilac Cafe (50's diner)
Chicken/Salad/Breadsticks- Pat %26amp; Oscar's
Greek- Daphne's Greek Cafe
Irish- Bennigan's
You might want to check out the Gaslamp district. They have a bunch of bars and restaurants there and it's a pretty busy fun place to check out. I personally like Seaport Village. It's a little pricey, but you can always pack a picnic and sit out by the water. As far as low cost goes... try Santana's. They have an amazing California Burrito for like $4. It's HUGE and yummy!
San Diego has the typical stuff you find everywhere (Olive Garden, Red Lobster, etc), and some very good independent restaurants. With a metro area of almost a couple million people, you can find anything and any price range. So you'd have to be more specific about where in SD you will be to answer your question. How are the restaurants in San Diego, California?
the food-excellent
price-can vary... its is moderate... but then again youre going to california almost everything is expensive here so bring some cash with you!!
San Diego has the best Mexican food!
For cheap and delicious, go to a "TO'S":
AlberTO'S
AdalberTO'S
HilberTO'S
JuaniTO'S
RoberTO'S
etc.
The TO'S are usually small family-owned places with little or no seating and hand-painted signs. You order food at the window. I recommend three taquitos with guacamole and cheese. YUM!
I went to San Diego a couple months ago and the food was fantastic!!
I found out about all the great places to eat by watching the Food Network, actually.
One of Rachel Ray's shows. (I think she did $40/day) She did a show specifically on San Diego. I would highly recommend looking it up. It will tell you prices too.
Yes. I would say Cheesecake Factory. They have them all over, though. If you want something a little more expensive try George's at the Cove, you can't go wrong there. As far as cheap...I don't know. Maybe, McDonald's?
Go to an area called the "Gaslamp District". It has a lot of restaurants and bars. Whatever the type of food you are looking for, they have a small place for you.
Most of it sucks. Ever since my husband and I moved here we've been disappointed so many times. P.F. Chang's was good, but we also ended up spending $160 there. There's also the Blue Ginger, which we haven't been to yet, but a famous chef owns it. His name is Ming Tsai. The Olive Garden is good too. Fuddrucker's is also here-burger joint-makes burgers to order. We rarely go out to eat now because of all the disappointments. My husband says he'd rather have me cook at home because we waste too much money going out to eat food that's not edible. Check out the restaurants in the mall like the Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Chang's. It's at the Fashion Valley Mall.
