We are trying to plan a family gathering of 20-30 people in San Diego.?

We don't want to spend an arm and a leg, just a simple BBQ type of deal. We just need a good place to have it. Any ideas? I already tried the restaurant thing but it will be way off our budget. Thanks!We are trying to plan a family gathering of 20-30 people in San Diego.?
Ummm...let's see. A nice local park? You can grill there. Any meeting places like a local Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star Lodge, VFW that you could rent for a donation? A lot of those places have some where you could cook and some even do fish fries or dinners for the public for donations and their facilities are usually very nice and family orientated. Call in the phone book and see if you could rent their whole facility or if they would be willing to cook for your party too for donations. All the money is usually used for charity or upkeep of the facilities. Good luck!
I'm doing the same thing in June. I bit the bullet and volunteered my house, and everyone's offered to bring something. I am freaking out however, because the guest list is up to 60! Isn't there someone who can offer their house and yard? How about your back yard? If you dont have a back yard I would go to your city park commission and apply for a permit to use the city park. This way you have exclusive use over a specified area within the park. No interuptions
