I want a place where its safe and where I can start my own restaurant/diner. It should be clean, near to the beaches, and a place where theres always something to do meaning you never get bored.Where in san diego is the best place to live for me?
Actually all of san diego is relatively safe. Especially beach areas. The only one i know that has a bad reputation is Imperial Beach (San Diego's most southern beach) but that reputation is no longer viable as they have cleaned up. What i would do if i were you is spend a day or 2, and just start in Imperial beach, drive up to Coronado, cross the bridge and drive up to other beaches like mission beach, Ocean Beach, La Jolla, Solana and Del Mar. Stop at a few local realtor offices. Check on local rent for restraunts. See the locals. You may want to hit up each beach 3 or 4 times. Check them in weekday time, weekday evening, weekend day and weekend night, so you can get a good idea of how much business you might have. Sounds like an awful lot of homework, but you want to get a good idea of what feels best to you.
When you launch, send me an e mail, id love to check it out.
Good luck.
P.S. i do logos and graphic design if you want menu help.
Pacific Beach is fun lots to do and you always have a influx of tourist. Pacific Beach would be good place along with South Mission Beach, the rents pretty expensive but cheaper then Del Mar where it is probably the safest and poshest beach in San Diego. I would also look into north county beaches too like Encinitas they are pretty safe and have a fun vibe, there is a emphasis on health food restaurants and lifestyle. Where in san diego is the best place to live for me?
if you are looking for something near clean nice beaches i would go with del mar. it is a huge tourist attraction (so you will probably get a ton of business). it is known for having fun locals, good sites, a very nice hotel, and of course beautiful beaches pacific beach is nice, like the person above me said, but it is more for young adults. there are a lot of bars, tattoo shops, little stores and boutiques, stuff like that for young locals. it isnt really a family place but it is still very nice and fun to hang out at.
I am not trying to speak negativity into your life, but starting a restaurant in the midst of a severe recession is a huge uphill battle. Starting one in the best of times is a challenge. Do your research and make sure you have a lot of reserves to survive the start-up.
Good luck.
