What is a good restaurant between the Los Angeles Forum and San Diego?

We'll be driving from the Forum to San Diego and I'm looking for a place to eat not too far from the freeway, a nice place though, not a McDonalds or Chilis. Something a bit different maybe. What is a good restaurant between the Los Angeles Forum and San Diego?
Roscoe's house of chicken and waffles, it's legendary and everyone should go at least once, it sounds weird, but trust me it's sooo good!!

Claim Jumper in Aliso Viejo (not far from 5 fwy)
Stop off about halfway in San Juan Capistrano. If you get off the 5 South at Ortega Hwy %26amp; go right there are several good restaurants just off the freeway and surrounding the old Mission san Juan. For everything-try Cedar Creek Inn. For Mexican-El Adobe, and for something more unique try Tannins Wine Bar %26amp; restaurant. Have fun!!
Nick's Italian restaurant in Costa Mesa, about a mile off the freeway in the Harbor shopping center. So many good dishes to choose from, not cheap but affordable, and they take good care of their customers. They have a lot of customers, since they've been around for decades.
