Going to be traveling to San Diego this summer. Any recommendations for great vegetarian restaurants?

Would also be great if they had options appealing to non-veggies! Doesn't have to be vegan.Going to be traveling to San Diego this summer. Any recommendations for great vegetarian restaurants?
Pokez is downtown, super cheap, and awesome for mexican food that is mostly vegetarian, and sometimes vegan. Highly reccomended.

My vegan friends also love Jyoti Behanga, Kung Food (vegan), and Mandarin Dynasty (offers veg/vegan), but I haven't been to any of those myself.

My absolute favorite place for vegetarian and vegan food is Sipz in Clairemont, they have the best food, hands down! ^_^ Mostly asian, but awesome sicilian lasagna as well, and also... vegan sushi!

I am not a vegetarian, but I love pokez and Sipz, give them a try. Also, there are a lot of restaurants in Hillcrest that offer vegetarian choices in their regular menus, many asian and indian, and almost all very good. Have fun! ^_^

Try south Indian food! Their food is so spicy, you won't even notice there's no meat. Also, lots of Thai and some Chinese places have vegetarian options. You could try Fuddrucker's or something, and get a veggie burger. They have lots of veggies available.

I was going to make suggestions, but my experience in San Diego is limited, and I think you'll do better just to read this thread on a food site, about San Diego vegetarian places.

(Recommendations include: Jyoti Bihanga, Spread, Cafe Zinc, and Ranchos Cocina.)
A really fantastic one is called Kung Food; however, their website says they may be closed temporarily. I hope they are open when you go! Try their "chicken" pot pie ... it was soooo yummy! They also will let you try a sample of things before you order it. I really hope it's open when you go ... it's a great restaurant.
I went to this "hole in the wall" Mexican restaurant in downtown san diego. It was called Pokez. It was really interesting, kind of divey, but in a really artsy way. It was the best food that I had my entire trip and I ate at places like J. Taylor's in Del Mar and A.R. Valentien at the Lodge at Torrey Pines.
You may want to check out the restaurants listed on VegDining.com for San Diego. I hear it's a great place for vegetarians, because of the number of restaurants the place has where one could enjoy vegetarian and vegetarian-friendly meals.

Good luck finding a great vegetarian dining experience in San Diego!
