I'm planning to visit San Diego next month. Any personal recommendation for A REAL GOOD Restaurant?

Seriously, I fed up of fast food and undistinguished ones. I'm looking forward to enjoying a good meal with my wife. I know there will be the "San Diego Restaurant Week" full of commercial recommendations, that's why I ask for advice based on personal experience. These other answers are all garbage. Olive Garden??? Seriously. With the exception of George's in La Jolla, you WILL be disappointed. I lived there for 8 years and I'm a food expert. Donovan's is a fantastic steakhouse in the UTC area. Best bet for steak. The marine room in La Jolla offers the best ambiance in the entire city as the waves actually hit the windows of the restaurant. But the meal I miss the most since moving back to the East Coast is the "Fillet a la Godfather" at The Godfather on Clairemont Mesa blvd. A butterflied fillet with prosciutto and mozzarella in a brown wine sauce with mushrooms. Best meal I've ever had. I could drink the marinara sauce out of a glass it's so good. Trust an expert and you'll be happy!!

I've just included Bananaleaf in my personal list, it's just amazing.
If you like Sushi I would recommend Nozomis in Carlsbad. They have the best rolls in my opinion. Check out their website below. Also if you do go there I would recommend their Hula roll. Its the best!

Georges at the Cove in La Jolla is wonderful food with an ocean view. Also Tom Ham's Lighthouse in San Diego, and the Coronado Boathouse in Coronado.
