San Diego Restaurants?

I'm looking for a really fancy restaurant in San Diego with great food.

Any ideas?

Its a special occasion and i would like it to be a place where you can be really dressy, and fancy.

Bertrand at Mister A's
Jakes in Del Mar
How about Mr A's in Balboa Park/Bankers Hill. It has a city view and is one of the best. Fifth and Laurel.

Also try Georges California Modern In La Jolla it is on Prospect and has ocean views.
Bertrand Mister As in downtown San Diego is elegant and has excellent food and service. The restaurant is on the 12th floor of a building with a panoramic view of the San Diego skyline and the coastline. It is gorgeous! My top choice for an evening where you can go all dressed up and not have people in jeans sitting at the next table.

My second choice would be the Marine Room in La Jolla. If you make reservations to dine during high tide and ask for a room by the window, the waves will be just inches from your table. It's a very dramatic view....also elegant.

I would try Morton's Steakhouse. They have really good food and it's very fancy. Here is a link:

Also, here is the basic information for the restaurant.

The Harbor Club

285 J Street

San Diego, CA 92101

Phone: 619-696-3369

Fax: 619-696-3355
We like Tom Hamms Lighthouse- its not super fancy but the view is great and the food is excellent! Enjoy!!!

people are pretty dressed up there.
Mr. A's is overrated...I'd recommend The Prado in Balboa Park for dinner, then Extraordinary Desserts in Banker's Hill (on 5th) afterward.
