Could someone suggest me a great restaurant for Mother's day brunch in San Diego, CA. I would like to surprise my future mother in law.Great restaurant in San Diego area?
Woah, way too many I can think of! Got any particular type of food in mind? Or a price range?
If you want something fancy I would say the Hotel Del (Coronado) which also has tea time so if you want to do something unique like tea try there. (But make sure to reserve ahead of time) I also really love the champagne brunch at Tom Ham's Lighthouse. This one overlooks the water and offers a seafood buffet along with everything else.
Some quaint (but more affordable) places I like are in south park/hillcrest - The Red Tractor and Hash House A GoGo are owned by the same people and are right across the street from one another so if one is too busy you can try the other. Of course, I really love a cute little place on Park Ave called The Park House Eatery. And The Mission is an old favorite. I'm sure you could view the menus of all online to get an idea what to expect.
By SDSU there's a neat restaurant called DZ Akins which caters to the jewish community, but has tons of stuff on their menu and I love their fresh fruit plate with cottage cheese. I swear the fruit weighs like 10 pounds!
For something more "normal" the Souplantation has a Sunday brunch with waffles and lots of other great stuff. El Torrito also has a buffet Sunday brunch complete with mini churros if you want Mexican. And Marie Calendars has a brunch buffet too. For sit down (non buffet) Mexican try Casa de Pico.
If you want to make a morning of it and peruse the antiques in north park there's a restaurant called Antique Row Cafe you can eat at before or after.
P.S. Congrats on the engagement!
