Suggestions for good Indian and Thai Restaurants in Northern San Diego County?

My girlfriend and I would almost never choose to go to an Indian or Thai restaurant on our own, since neither of us can handle spicy foods very well.



In the past year, I've gone to a few Indian and Thai restaurants around SD with some friends, and I've tried a few good entrees (Chicken Pad Thai, Tandoori Chicken) that are minimally spicy or not spicy at all.



I would like to take my girlfriend to an Indian or Thai restaurant near my house so that she can try a few entrees that taste good and (hopefully) won't cause her trouble. My thought is that it is good for both of us to know about a few "safe" dishes that we can eat in case either of us are invited to a friend's birthday dinner or a dinner after work with co-workers.



If anyone can recommend an Indian and/or Thai restaurant in Northern San Diego County - ideally Carlsbad, Encinitas, Del Mar, Solana Beach - I sure would appreciate it. Suggestions for good Indian and Thai Restaurants in Northern San Diego County?
near the corner of pio pico in carlsbad, is a great little thai resturant i think it's called thai lotus.they rate their heat level on a 1-10 so if you cant handle spicey then get a 4 or below. umm on the border of carlsband and oceanside in the toys r us shoping center i think chillis and black angus are there too is also a place called ocean Thai there food is good too both places have thai people working in them cooking and serving ( not like some places that have white and mexican people cooking) the only indian food place i've eaten at is in gas lamp area called star of india it was good and seemed authentic, but i don't know of any in north county..
