What is your favorite "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant in San Diego?

What part of town and street is it in? What kind of food do you like there? What is your favorite "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant in San Diego?
El Indio's in Old Town!

Best Mexican food you'll find anywhere!
Mama Testa on Univeristy Ave. is a great little "hole in the wall" taco shop that has very unique and tasty tacos. It's a cute little place with a friendly owner. Here's the website: http://www.mamatestataqueria.com/What is your favorite "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant in San Diego?
The Bombay cafe in Vista on the corner of Bobier and East Vista Way. The best Indian food in California.....period.
We used to live in El cajon and moved to Texas..Ottavios was right down the street. Its on Second street. Good Italian..Another for Mexican, is also on Second, near Save alot store. cant remember the name but has good mexican food.....The Mexican out here isnt as spicey as in calif..Tex Mex.
La Bellas in Chula Vista. Very casual family Italian restaurant. Great Bar %26amp; booths for dining in the back of the restaurant as well.

This is my favorite place to hang out with my friends after work.
My favorite is not really a small nor unknown place. It's Miguel's, on Orange Avenue in Coronado and just down the street from the world-famous Hotel del Coronado.

Another small -- yet very well-known -- place is Phil's BBQ in Mission Hills. I believe the nearest interesection is Washington and Goldfinch.
I like the "Antique Row"...

There's one in AbNormal Heights another in Spring Valley and another in El Cajon.

They do a great breakfast (try the Polska Omelette)!!

Another hidden Gem is "Ottavio's" in El Cajon... kinda buried in a strip mall, the inside ambiance is great and the food (Italian) is fantastic!!
For Mexican food, Tony's Jacal in Eden Gardens, by Del Mar, been there for over 30 years.
I don't have a favorite but a lot of good "hole -in-the-wall' restaurant are mexican food.
I like Pokies cafe, I'm not sure what street it's on but it's right before you go into the main downtown area. It's mexican food, but it has a very artsy feel to it. They have vegetarian food as well. You can pick up local music flyers and event info there too.
