What's a good restaurant to eat steak, and chicken wings, and buffalo wings in San Diego?

I'm going to San Diego for 2 weeks soon, and I would like some great suggestions. It doesn't all have to be at the same restaurant, I'll be there for 2 weeks so I'll have lots of time!

I'm going to guess that if you'll be in SD for any length of time, you'll have access to a car. Our public transportation is sadly lacking, so do rent a car, or make sure whoever you stay with is willing to drive you around!



For tasty Buffalo chicken wings as well as thick crust pizza and especially for good, handcrafted microbrewed beer, I recommend Pizza Port. There are three locations, in Solana Beach, Carlsbad, and San Clemente. I go to the one in Carlsbad, on Carlsbad Village Drive. Carlsbad is about half an hour north of the city, but well worth the trip.



For steak, check out Donovan's in La Jolla (north end of town) or the Gaslamp District (pretty much downtown.)



I know you didn't ask about fish tacos, but I recommend Harbor Fish Cafe in Carlsbad on Carlsbad Blvd (a.k.a. Pacific Coast Highway.) I don't know where you are visiting from, but I have to recommend you try fish tacos while you're here! Some places grill them, and some fry them. Honestly, you're on vacation, try the fried ones. Some are little snacky things, and some are a meal. Harbor Fish's fish tacos are ginormous. Oh my goodness you won't regret it!
For steak, there is NOTHING in this world like Mortons Steak House. The one I love best is the original in Chicago, but we have one here in Portland, Oregon. There probably is one in San Diego, but if not, I am sure LA has one and you could drive there. Believe me, Mortons is the best in the whole US and it would be worth the trip!

Hooters for the chicken wings and bufffalo wings. Steak is tricky, the outback steak house has good steak.
