My husband I are about to move from the mid-west to San Diego, and would like to know what parts of the city would be best to live in. We are a young couple with no kids. I don't enjoy cookie-cutter homes or suburban living. I would love to live somewhere where we can walk to restaurants, parks and shops. Any advice would be appreciated! What are some of the most fun neighborhoods in San Diego to live in?
South Park
Hillcrest
Golden Hills
Bankers Hill / Uptown
North Park (south of University Ave)
Little Italy
Downtown / Gaslamp
Pacific %26amp; Mission Beach
Ocean Beach
Kensington
and if money is no option
Del Mar
La Jolla
Mission Hills
Coronado
plus all of the North County Beach Towns below Oceanside,
if you live west of the 5 freeway
La Jolla, Hillcrest (try italian restaurant Arrivaderci on Fifth Avenue), downtown, Little Italy. There are condos in the Gaslamp part of downtown but I'd pass on those--it's like MardiGras every night outside your window.
I came from the midwest and loved it. The people here are very "live and let live" but you have to make more of an effort to get to know people. The people in the midwest are just friendlier than anyone
Welcome :-) What are some of the most fun neighborhoods in San Diego to live in?
if your married:
downtown area - little italy/Hill crest
San Diego Beachs - La Jolla/Birdrock
North County (beach area)- Encinitas
Same as everyone else said, and also Encinitas (west, not east, that's all suburbs) is really fun.
PB (Pacific Beach), Ocean Beach, Encinitas/Cardiff... basically the person above me covered them all well! :)
