Roy's - La Jolla or Downtown. Hawaiian fusion menu. Service is excellent!

Jack's "Viaggio"- wine paired menu is to die for. Has great dj/dancing late nights on another level.

Trattoria La Bocca- Tasty authentic Italian in the heart of Downtown.

Not sure if the tourists have taken it over, but Point Loma Seafoods

was always a great place to go for a "date lunch." It's not classically

romantic, but the view of the fishing boats coming in and out, the

amazingly fresh seafood, and the fact that you can drive over to

Shelter Island watch the world go by after your meal all make this

place tops.



Also, Filippi's down on India Street. Again, not classically romantic,

but the food and ambience are good, down-to-earth, Old Country.



If you want high end recommendations, I'll have to pass. The wife

and I grew up on Filippi's, El Indio, Roberto's, Jasmine, O'Brien's,

The Venetian, and Margarita's. All fairly low-budget, not focused on

atmosphere, just honest food places to eat.



If hubby is a beer lover, check out O'Brien's on Convoy. Best beer

bar south of the San Francisco Bay.

I was in San Diego a few years ago,but I am sure it's still there.The name is Hunters Steakhouse and it was WONDERFUL!!!If you get there I hope you enjoy it just as much as we did.Also the waiter was the BEST!
Flemmings Steak house is awesome . LaJolla Village Drive . Great food and really romantic and fun!!!!
