Tonight, i'm taking this girl out for our first date together. She really means a whole lot to me, and I want to make it a very special night. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as romantic places I could take her? As of now, i'm planning on taking her to II Fornaio, which is an Italian restaurant in coronado. But i'm open for suggestions, because this is somewhat out of the ordinary for me and I want to make it as special as it can be. As you point out there is the world famous zoo but there is also many other things to do. There is some great beaches to spend the day at, try the one in front of the Hotel Del Coronado it's huge and usually not too crowded.



There is Sea World, many fine and unique museums, Old Town (great Mexican food and sights), the Gas Lamp District (fine dining and night life), rent a sail or power boat and tour the bay, Reuben H Fleet Science Center, La Jolla, tour an aircraft carrier, catch a Padre game, visit the casino, wine tasting, or bet the ponies at Del Mar (if they are running).



Of course there are the many outdoor activities, many of which you can do at home like: hot air balloons, sky diving, bi-plane/war bird rides, hiking, etc.

Hornblower dinner cruise. It's a 3 hour cruise with a nice dinner on San Diego Bay. I've done this and had a great time. In fact tonight would be really nice because it is summer and the weather is fine. It's not something to put off until winter.



After living in the beach area of San Diego for 47 years I have to say that this was one of the nicest times I had. Great setting for a first date. There is dinner, dancing if you want to. If you want to be alone and just talk go up on deck and just enjoy the night lights of San Diego, Point Loma and Coronado. No one dislikes this cruise

Walk along the coastline. See if you can find a bench or other place to sit and talk after dinner overlooking the bay. Let her know you enjoy being with her. Give her a single rose as you pick her up.
