SAN DIEGO? I will give a thumbs up to anyone who answers. What are the best things to do and see in San Diego?

We are going to Sea World. What else can we do or see? We love the ocean and outdoors, boating, animals, history, hiking, shopping, dining out. Please provide some links to restaurants and other sight seeing or activities.

Thanks!!SAN DIEGO? I will give a thumbs up to anyone who answers. What are the best things to do and see in San Diego?
One of my favorite things is to take a Harbor cruise. They have a 1 hour and a 2 hour cruise. These are a little expensive at about $15-$25 a trip, but if you want to save money you can just take the ferry over to Coronado. Lots of good views---used to be $2 each way, now it's probably $3 or$4. I think it leaves every 1/2 hour, and you can get off and stay, or just ride it back.
Besides the Zoo, Balboa Park contains a dozen great museums and a botanical garden. Air %26amp; Space Museum, Model Railroad Museum, Natural History Museum, Automotive Museum, Art Museum, Museum of Man, Space Center and IMAX Theater. Get a passport and explore.

Head to Windansea beach and watch the surfers and the spectacular view. At low tide you can walk out onto the tide pools just north of the beach.

Walk along the La Jolla Cove and Scripps Park. Follow the the sidewalk down to the Children's pool and see the seals.

Walk along Prospect St. and check out the shops and art galleries. Stop by Alfonso's and have some authentic Mexican food and Margaritas on the patio.

Also in La Jolla is the Birch Aquarium. Built on the bluffs above the Pacific Ocean, it offers a spectacular view.

The Old Point Loma Lighthouse in Cabrillo National Monument offers a spectaular view of Donwtown San Dego, Coronado, the Pacific Ocean, and Mexico.

For a romantic dinner, Peohe's restaurant in Coronado offers the best view of the downtown San Diego skyline. The food is excellent.

For nightlife head to the Gaslamp Quarter and check out a ballgame at Petco Park.

The guy above me gave alot of great suggestions. Also, if you want a bit of history, you could visit "Old Town San Diego" or visit some of the old Missions in the San Diego area, such as Mission Basilica San Diego De Alcala... http://www.missionsandiego.com/ , http://www.oldtownsandiegoguide.com/

I used to live in San Diego.. it's a great place. Have fun!
You can go to their baseball stadium. The name of their city's team escapes me. I think is might be the Padres. But it is fun to go to another city's stadium and watch them play.
