Old Town Mexican Cafe is the best I have had...they make homemade tortillas in the front window...sometimes you can get them to go, if they are not too busy. The tortillas, chips and salsa, margaritas and food are so good. If you go for breakfast I suggest the New Mexico Enchiladas. Here's a link to the place:

How about El Vitral directly next to Petco Park.

It's modern and beautiful with a large terrace facing the park.

The food is up-scale Mexican.
Try El Indio!! Best mexican food in sandiego!

Also try Por Favor in La Mesa....really good food there

or Tio Leo's.

Rockin Baja is another good place! Its in Old Town!
