What's the best Mexican restaurant in San Diego?

I have a few favorites.

If you want the best fish tacos anywhere, try The South Beach bar %26amp; Grill on Newport avenue in Ocean Beach. It also has a great location, right on the ocean. However, that's about the only mexican food they have.

In Old Town, Coyote Cafe is my favorite. Lots of freshness, fantastic black bean dishes. SOMETIMES the service is spotty.

For organic, go back to OB and try Rancho's.

For the richest shrimp and cheese quesadillas, try Cotijas (a chain, all over San Diego).

For nice sit-down, with atmosphere, either of the Miguel's, on Scott St in Pt Loma, or on Coronado, is nice. The jalapeno white sauce served with the chips is addictive, and they WILL share the recipe if you ask.

Last but NOT least, for something really interesting and authentic, but expensive, go to Indigo Grill in Little Italy. Chef Debra Scott spent a year in Mexico learning about what REAL mexican cooking is.What's the best Mexican restaurant in San Diego?
La Pinata in Old Town
old town mexican cafe is affordable and has the best tortillas. What's the best Mexican restaurant in San Diego?
I would have to say Rubios. If you want something faster chipolltle is pritty good too.
LOLITAS!
I know the answer! Its this little place called Los Cabos in the Del Mar Highlands shopping center in Del Mar. It is absolutely fantastic. The carne asada and chicken are so smokey good and they have great fancy cocktails. Reasonably priced. You have to try it.
I have never been to this particular restaurant but it has good revues.

Roberto's is definitly the best for take-out or casual sit down, everything on the menu is good, large portions and reasonable prices. Stay out of Old Town unless you like tourists and paying over ten bucks for a burrito.
